Anubias coffeefolia, also known as Anubias barteri var. coffeifolia, is a popular aquatic plant known for its attractive foliage and ease of care. Here are some key details about this plant:

    Description

Appearance: Anubias coffeefolia features large, deep green leaves that are sturdy and can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) tall. The leaves have a unique, wavy texture that resembles coffee leaves, which contributes to its common name.

Growth Habit: This plant has a creeping rhizome that can extend 10-15 cm or more, allowing it to spread in the aquarium setting.

    Care Requirements

Light: Anubias coffeefolia thrives in low to moderate light conditions, making it suitable for various aquarium setups. It can tolerate lower light levels better than many other aquatic plants[6].

Substrate: While it can be planted in substrate, it is often recommended to attach the rhizome to rocks or driftwood to prevent rot.

Water Conditions: This plant is adaptable and can grow in a range of water conditions but prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH levels (6.0 - 7.5) and temperatures between 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F).

    Benefits in Aquariums

Habitat: Anubias coffeefolia provides excellent cover for fish and other aquatic pets, creating a more natural environment. Its robust leaves can also help reduce algae growth by shading areas of the tank.

Maintenance: The plant is relatively low-maintenance and can thrive with minimal care, making it ideal for beginners and experienced aquarists alike.

Overall, Anubias coffeefolia is a versatile and attractive addition to freshwater aquariums, valued for its aesthetic appeal and ease of care.

    Pests & Algae

I do have snails in my tank.I do my best to pick off what I see. Duckweed have invaded a few tanks but most plants will be free of duckweed. Older leaves may have a bit of algae but I typically clean up all plants before shipping.
